Meet Justin Lofton
Justin Lofton is a proud native of Pike County. Born and raised in the Burgland community, he is an experienced nonprofit executive director, youth development consultant, and entrepreneur. Justin attended McComb High School and graduated from the Mississippi School of the Arts in Brookhaven, Mississippi. He is a first generation college student and holds a Bachelor of Organizational Management from Lipscomb University, a Master of Political Management from the George Washington University, and is finishing his Master of Public Administration at Lipscomb University.
Justin brings a wealth of experience, results-oriented leadership, and vision for strengthening Pike County. He has worked alongside state lawmakers on legislation to expand healthcare accessibility, provide over $13 million dollars in critical infrastructure funding, and increase teacher salaries. Justin is an advocate for public safety, reforming our criminal justice system, reducing wasteful government spending, and investing in local small businesses and new industries to grow our local economy.
He is running to become the next Pike County District 1 Supervisor, because for 23 years, District 1 has lacked the investments needed to improve our quality of life and keep our communities thriving. Justin believes that a strong Pike County is a county that works for you. As District 1 Supervisor, he will be a competent, bold, and visionary change agent committed to centering your voices to address our communities most pressing issues.
About the Office
A Pike County Supervisor is elected for a four-year term from districts that vary in geographic size but have approximately the same population. Their primary duties include adopting an annual budget, setting the County Tax Levy, setting policies, goals, and objectives to direct the County’s growth and development, adopting and providing for ordinances, rules, and regulations as necessary for the County, as well as overseeing the maintenance of all the County’s roads and bridges. A Supervisor is committed to continuing the improvement in the quality of life for all County residents which include providing better jobs and county services, as well as a commitment to running Pike County in an efficient, productive business-like manner.
